History of Jojoba Oil
Jojoba oil comes from the seeds of the Jojoba plant, native to the southwestern US and Northwestern Mexico and it’s been used by Native Americans for hundreds of years due to its medicinal properties. Native Americans used Jojoba oil in a salve for wound healing and treating sores and other skin issues. It was also used to soothe and nourish dry skin and hair. Jesuit missionaries noticed Native Americans using Jojoba oil and spread word of the benefits it provided.
Similar to Human Sebum
Of all natural oils, Jojoba oil is the most chemically similar to human sebum, which is the oil that human skin naturally produces for moisturization. Because Jojoba oil is so similar to human sebum, it is quite easily absorbed and does not leave a greasy residue. Although commonly called Jojoba Oil, it is technically a wax, or a liquid wax ester, to be more specific, but it is a liquid at room temperature. It’s a good choice for an all-around moisturizer or to mix with other carrier oils or essential oils.

I use this product on my face for the most part which is a bit dry as I age. i’ve used jojoba oil for years & love it. It absorbs readily absorbed into my skin and doesnot leave any residue on the surface. this is a good brand. i Didn’t know which brand of Jojoba oil to buy, so I got this one and Aura Cacia Jojoba oil. This brand was the better choice. Absorbs well and helps problem areas on my skin. It also works great moisturizing my 6 month old baby’s hair. Definitely recommend.
